As you navigate your way through the aging process, your skin’s natural collagen supply decreases and you may start to notice wrinkles and facial aging.
By boosting your body’s ability to produce collagen, you ensure a gradual and natural reversal of the effects of aging on your face. Due to the nature of Sculptra, you can expect to see results gradually instead of immediately after injections. To ensure that you are seeing the best results possible, our providers take detailed before and after photos to track your progress.
To ensure the most natural results possible, Sculptra is usually given in 1 vial increments, generally spaced 4-6 weeks in between treatments. Once the desired effect is achieved, you can expect the results to last up to 2 years.
When you arrive at the office, a topical numbing cream will be applied in office and left on for about 30 minutes to take full effect before injections are given. You will then receive a small series of injections around the area of concern, followed by a massage around the area to evenly distribute the product within your skin.
You may notice common side effects like pinpoint bleeding the area of injection, pain, swelling, and bruising. These side effects may be noticeable up to two weeks post-procedure. At home, you can apply Arnica gel or Alastin INhance and treat intermittently with ice to reduce bruising, pain, and swelling. Please be careful to use a cloth over the ice and never ice directly on the skin.
You may begin using usual skincare products and makeup a few hours after your treatment. At home, massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times per day for 5 days, according to your provider’s advice. A few days after treatment, you may look as you did before treatment. This is normal and temporary!
Visible results appear within the first few treatment session. If your physician indicated that you need additional Sculptra Aesthetic treatment, please make sure an appointment has been scheduled as soon as possible to avoid a lapse in treatment.
