Fraxel Restore

Other Skin Resurfacing Procedures:  Infini  |  Lumenis Total FX  |  Lumenis ResurFX  |  Fraxel Restore  |  Dermapen (Microneedling)

The original Fraxel treatment, Fraxel re:store can resurface damaged skin and uncover the skin of your youth – all with minimal impact on your daily routine. You can return to normal activity the very next day.

Fraxel re:store typically treats these conditions:

  • Acne/surgical scars
  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Melasma (mask of pregnancy)
  • Irregular Texture
  • Sun Spots and Age spots (pigmented lesions)

Clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions, spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart. (Based upon our experience, our office offers treatments in packages of four.) Depending upon your condition and schedule, you and your physician may choose to space treatment sessions even farther apart.

After your Fraxel Laser Treatment, you will begin to feel the difference in your skin, as it gradually becomes softer, smoother and fresher. Fine lines around your eyes and mouth will noticeably fade, as will uneven coloring and the brown spots caused by aging and sun exposure.

Results are immediate and progressive. Optimal improvement is usually visible in about 2 to 3 months. This time frame and treatment structure allows for complete healing and replacement of damaged tissue with new collagen and elastin, and viable healthy skin cell growth.

What is the Fraxel Restore?

The Fraxel Restore is proven laser technology that can help reverse the visible effects of aging, naturally helping you look as young as you feel.

What are the benefits of Fraxel?

With Fraxel, you can treat fine lines and wrinkles – like crow’s feet and brow lines, surface scarring – erasing effects of acne and other scarring, pigmentation – minimizing the appearance of age spots, sun damage – helping heal dangerous skin damage, and more!

How does Fraxel work?

Fraxel laser treatment targets aging and sun-damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into your skin to expedite your body’s remodeling of collagen. And since the laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, it leaves the surrounding tissue intact, which promotes very rapid healing. Fraxel treatment resurfaces your skin by stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin cells from the inside out.

Does Fraxel hurt?

Topical anesthesia is applied before the procedure and cold air is used on the area being treated to minimize discomfort. After the treatment, most patients report a feeling similar to a sunburn, which disappears in 1-3 hours.

How long is Fraxel effective?

The results of Fraxel treatment are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show more even tone. The next 3 to 6 months will bring more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to heal.

Are there any side effect involved with getting Fraxel?

You will have some degree of redness and swelling. The intensity and duration depends on how aggressive the treatment was and your healing characteristics. Other temporary side effects may include minor itching, dry skin, peeling or flaking of skin, and a bronzed appearance. You will be given specific instructions as to how to minimize side effects.
