ACCURE LASER A NEW TAKE ON ACNE. REQUEST A CONSULT

ACCURE

Accure is a new treatment that utilized a unique laser wavelength specifically targeted at treating mild to severe acne.

The treatment safely and effectively denatures/destroys the sebaceous gland, reducing the production of sebum (the oil that causes clogged pores and acne). By normalizing the amount of oil produced, the appearance of facial or body acne is significantly improved.

If you’ve had peels, IPL laser treatments, or other laser treatments for acne and have not seen a dramatic improvement, rest assured Accure laser treatments are unlike any other traditional acne treatment. These other treatments are unable to target sebaceous glands, but Accure Laser System is proven to target the overactive glands safely and effectively. This treatment prevents future breakouts by treating the source of the problem rather than fixing the issue retroactively.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do Accure treatments hurt?

Prior to treatment, your provider will give you a prescription for a topical numbing ointment to help reduce pain during treatment. With this numbing ointment, most patients find treatment quite tolerable. If you are still experiencing discomfort, we do offer laughing gas (nitrous oxide called Pro-Nox) at an additional charge that helps with pain control and will help ease your nerves for a very comfortable treatment experience.

Is there any downtime with Accure laser treatments?

Most patients experience little to no downtime. Your skin may appear flushed, red, or puffy immediately after treatment. This resolves within a few hours or a couple of days, at most. You might notice a temporary acne flare-up after treatment which is normal. There should be no disruption to your regular schedule or activities.

How long will results from Accure acne laser last?

There has been multi-year studies performed on Accure which showed long-lasting results. Some patients may decide they want to do a touch up treatment after their series of 4 treatments. One should wait 3 months after their last treatment to decide if a touch up is necessary.

How much do Accure acne laser treatments cost?

Since every patient’s skin needs are unique, it is best to discuss your individual plan and cost during a consultation. We are currently pricing facial treatments at $1,250 per treatment and full back treatments at $1,500 per treatment. We also offer package discounts for patietns interested in purchasing all 4 treatments at once, as well.

Will my insurance cover Accure acne treatments?

Unfortunately, this treatment is considered a cosmetic procedure by insurance companies and is therefore a self-pay procedure.

Is Accure laser safe for all skin types? What if I have a tan?

The unique wavelength used by the Accure system is not attracted to melanin, making this treatment safe for all skin types and safe for skin with recent sun exposure.

What skin products should I use in between my Accure treatment sessions?

Your physician will recommend a custom curated skincare routine that includes a face wash, moisturizer and sunscreen. You may also be recommended treatments or serums to specifically treat any acne flare ups during your Accure series.

How long can acne flares last after treatment?

Flares can last 1-2 weeks. As treatments progress, these flares lessen. Frederick Dermatology Associates can help lessen the flare with a topical medication (Epiduo) if needed.

How do I prepare of the Accure treatment?

You will need to apply a topical numbing agent comprised of 23% lidocaine and 7% tetracaine 1 hour prior to treatment of the face. You will do this at home on clean, dry skin. If you are being treated for an area of the body, you will be required to numb one hour prior to treatment in-office.
